1) From the Desk of Lynn Terry
=========================

2002 has been a wonderful year for me personally, and for Web Service Network. With the closing of this year - and a new one only weeks away - I find myself reflecting on goals, accomplishments and future plans. I am very much looking forward to 2003, and all that it holds! Each year seems more and more exciting as my business goes through the phases of growth and change… and I find myself growing and changing right along with it!

Often I meet people who are frustrated with their career, or searching endlessly for jobs or businesses that they can manage from their home office. There are thousands upon thousands of people now who are successfully running their own business and/or working from home – if you aren’t one of them, let 2003 be your year!

Looking back on my ‘start-up days’, I would attribute the success of both of my businesses to focus and determination – and a fair share of hard work! There were months spent perfecting the business plan, an entire lifestyle change as the finances were adjusted to afford the business expenses, as well as many long days that ran into nights as I put everything that I had into building my future.

I wish you much success as you start your own ventures, and follow the seasons of change with your business. As always, feel free to contact me if you need guidance and advice, or would like to ‘brainstorm’ about your business ideas and long-term goals.

Happy Monday!

2) How to Introduce a New Product or Service

by Dr Nunley
=====================================

Nothing boosts sales faster than effectively introducing a great new product or service.  If you do it right, the move can stir up excitement and sales for months to come.

1.  Point your marketing to prospects who are sitting on the fence.  Don't worry about people who you know will be jumping up and down to buy your new product the moment it comes out.  Also don't waste time on those who have zero interest.  Instead, go after that huge and fascinating audience that could fall in love with your new offer if only they were told why they should.

2.  Show confidence and enthusiasm in what makes your product or service an improvement over what customers have been buying.

3.  Use quotes from the first few people who venture to buy. Also try to line up testimonials from known industry insiders who can show that your product is accepted by people in your field.

4.  Finally, spend half your marketing budget in the first three months.  You want to send off your new development with plenty of marketing.  Then spend 50 percent of your budget keeping your marketing visible for the rest of the year.

No matter what your budget, Kevin has a marketing package for you.  Press releases, killer ad copy, newsletter ad packages, search engines and more!  See DrNunley.com

4) Let Your Life Speak

by Mary Goulet
====================

Let Your Life Speak

If you let your life speak what would it say? Are you aware of your dormant talents and interests and promising yourself that one-day you will begin them? What is it that is unexpressed? Are you an artist waiting for the kids to start school before you apply your craft? Are you a cook with no time to plan that great meal? Or are you a writer, golfer, inventor, comedian or musician? It doesn’t matter what it is, though it does matter that you seek it out and follow it.

Live an Inspired Life

Why is inspiration important? Inspiration ignites our potential, identifies a place deep within us and calls us into action. Have you ever heard a song you love or watched an athlete perform at their peak and walked away energized? That’s inspiration. Most of us do not follow through with that energy and see where it might lead us. Sometimes we might jot down a few thoughts in our journal or strum a few chords on an oft-neglected guitar, that’s a start yet the key is we need to continually seek out inspiration and follow through with the energy until we become an inspiration to others. Why is following through with inspiring moments important? Sometimes that feeling is all we have to identify our passion in life. Observing someone else’s passion will give us a clue about our own. When we are inspired and act on it we become better parents, friends, co-workers and strangers because we are not letting life pass us by we are doing our part in the world and it feels right.

I have a list of people that inspire me. I realized the importance of my mentors when I watched the movie ‘As Good As It Gets’ with Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. One memorable scene that illustrates the impact we can have on others is when Hunt’s character asks Nicholson to pay her a compliment. Unexpectedly he says, “You make me want to be a better man.” Now that’s inspiration. Who in your life inspires you? The people that inspire me into action range from an acquaintance to a close friend and the more obvious actor and musician. There are no specific profiles per say to my mentors. I believe they possess a quality I admire or possibly a finely tuned and expressed talent. It’s personal to me as your inspirational mentors will be personal to you. The key: do they make you want to be a better you?

5 Keys to a Fulfilling Life:

1.) Be inspired. Be passionate. Let your life speak and be of service on this planet. This is not to mean just an altruistic service, it means doing in life what you are best at doing. There is a reason that you have certain talents. Be curious. Identify your true talents. Think deeply about them; identify them clearly; then find out how to use them. It’s never too late to use the gifts God gave you. Seek out inspiration. Recognize whom it is that inspires passion within you. Sometimes we need to be inspired to motivate us to use our talents. How do you identify your passion? Begin with your interests. List everything that interests you. Everything you have a propensity for and anything you studied when you were young. You’ll recognize something.

2.) Be disciplined. Stop doing what you should not be doing. Do what you should do and do it, now! You will feel better about yourself.

3.) Know yourself. Learn about your life lessons, strengths and challenges. Knowledge is power. How do you learn? Write out everything that you are afraid of, from public speaking to what others might think of you. It might take awhile to make the list so stick with it. When you are finished ask yourself to challenge the fears. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “You must do the thing you think you cannot do”. Walk head long into fear, it will buckle under your courage. I promise!

4.) Trust yourself. Don’t sell your soul for anything it will only make you insecure and beholden to others. Answer to your own conscience. You will gain confidence.

5.) Keep learning. We are multi-faceted beings that are rumored to use only 5% of our brainpower. How much are you using? Learn and be an interesting person. Someone once said to me “the key to life is in the joy of finding things out.” Something we can ponder.
