1) The checks are rolling in - Now what?
========================================

I read about it, I researched it, and then I ran a few tests. No financial investment at all and minimal time investment... and now the checks are rolling in.

Little checks: $42.86, $51.97, $64.80, $195.00, $6.00, $9.81, $119.50 <-- those are some examples. I am getting 2-5 checks each month. How many and how much varies a little, but they are consistently showing up in the mailbox.

- I'm talking about Affiliate Marketing here -

It occurred to me real quick that a person could make a full-time living (and a *good* one) as an Affiliate Marketer. Me personally, I am a webmaster and love my trade... but these little checks are sure fun to get (and even more fun to spend!).

Considering what little time it takes to launch an affiliate marketing campaign, there is obviously HUGE potential here. I'll admit that my few test runs were poor examples of truly successful affiliate marketing - yet they yielded returns in excess of $150 per hour invested.

My mind is spinning this morning... I figured out a working model. A great, easy to duplicate, working model. I'm talking about turning $64.80 into $648.00 and then $6480.00... Not that this is "news" - more a culmination of all of the research and then the results of my own testing.

- What does one do when they get to this point? -

Okay, so now what? Do I put my working model into motion and rack up on commission checks? Or do I put my working model down "on paper" and turn it into my very own "how-to product"? I put this question to my favorite "panel of experts" - Becky Hagel & friends over at www.MarketingAuction.com - and the general consensus is: You do BOTH!

There is so much money to be made online, it's absolutely mind-boggling!

Aside from the obvious financial incentive, Affiliate Marketing - at least the way that I have been doing it - has resulted in *great* promotion for ME in general. More subscribers, more web development clients, more invitations for speaking engagements, workshops & radio publicity, etc etc etc - and the "little checks" have been a "fun bonus"... until they started amounting to substantial contributions to the business account on a regular basis... which is what started this topic...

*How* I do it (my working model) is yet to be revealed... but if you rummage through the SSWT archives, you'll pick up some hints and tips here and there. In the meantime, I am reading the Info-Products Masters Course by Ken Evoy and considering whether I want to give my upcoming ebook away for free, or sell it for what it's worth - or at least an affordable alternative ;) - and set up my own affiliate program. Stay tuned - I'll reveal my decision here, to my faithful subscribers, first!

If you are interested in creating your own Info Product, and would like to pick up the free e-course by Ken Evoy, you can send a blank email to: mailto:timswsn@sitesell.net . This is the absolute best information I've run across so far!

P.S. I'm calling in to the Live 90 minute Panel Discussion tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 11th, 9pm EST). Its only $39 to attend... and I already *know* - without a doubt - that I'll make that back within 48 hours ;) Here's more information, straight from an email from Jason Potash himself, if you'd like to join me:

"Here's your chance to eavesdrop in on a live, roundtable discussion with today's top affiliate marketers, get inside their heads, and listen as they mix-it-up and reveal all their short cuts, proven tactics, success stories, and guarded secrets, so you too can start to generate jumbo-size affiliate checks!" http://wetrack.it/eza/af.cgi?aid=776&ent=6

2) Money-Saving Shipping Tips! Did you know...
==============================================

1) Most people know that the Post Office offers free Boxes, Labels and Packing Tape... but did you know that you can get *customized* Priority Mail Labels pre-printed with your return address?? http://www.usps.com

2) Did you know that UPS also offers free boxes to UPS Account Holders? Just ask your Rep or Delivery Person!

3) Use a bathroom scale to weigh your items (add $1 or so for box & packing material) so that you can estimate the shipping cost - A great alternative to spending $50-$80+ on a scale at the office supply store! You can then get shipping rates from http://www.usps.com and/or http://www.ups.com .

4) Use the paper shredder in your office to recycle paperwork into packing material! Shredded paper works great, and is a great alternative to buying bubble wrap and 'peanuts'.

I discussed these tips, along with "where to find products you can sell on eBay" last week during an interview by Mary Goulet, host of the Entrepreneur Magazine Home Biz Show. You can listen to the archive - free and available online 24/7.
