Okay Crew ~ Thanksgiving is next week, and Christmas is following close behind! There are several ways that you can optimize your websites and capitalize on holiday sales - It's never too late to start! Today is a good day to sit down and review your goals and make sure that you have everything effectively covered. Happy Monday ;-)

1) Holiday Sales Checklist

  • Holiday Gifts and Christmas cards
    Send Christmas cards to your offline mailing list as early as possible! If you have a product-based business, consider creative ways you can give your own products as holiday gifts. Organize your gift & card lists!

·         Networking with your Target Market
Check your signature files (include any current specials!), and stay active on message boards, discussion groups, newsgroups and safelists

·         Submit Press Releases & Articles
Submit your press releases and articles both online and offline! Along with websites and ezines, there are newspapers, magazines and offline newsletters that accept content for their publications!

·         Are you publishing a Newsletter/Ezine, or do you have a Mailing List?
If not, you need to start one! If so, be sure to send out your list mail on the same day each week and include your specials, site updates, and other pertinent information. Archive your email-news on your website for even more exposure!

·         Make good use of your confirmation emails/pages
This tip was in last week’s issue – a great way to encourage “back-end sales” and repeat visitors!

·         Testimonials
Write them… and include your name and website link when you send them! Also, publish any testimonials that you receive from clients and customers on your website – this increases trust and credibility for new visitors!

·         Ebay
Can you sell your products on eBay? What about your ad space? Even selling items that are not related to your business can increase exposure to your website. Make use of the extra traffic at eBay during the holidays! Remember to use a Signature File in your emails when corresponding with eBay bidders ;) If you ARE selling on eBay, be sure to sign up for eBay’s Affiliate Program and use your affiliate links when promoting your auction listings – it’s money down the drain if you don’t ;~D

·         Follow-up with your Contacts
Follow up with people you have corresponded with in the last six weeks that may not be on your mailing list. Make it personal, and check in with them to see where they stand on issues that were discussed in previous correspondence. Let them know if there are new policies, specials or information that might be important in their decision!

·         Search Engine Optimization
Do a review of your content, your meta tags, and your link popularity. A few minutes of site-maintenance can make a big difference in your search engine ranking!
